“Kelly is a master at helping you find your own path to balance and wellness. I went through a rough patch in life—total life upheaval, between moving/changing cities, changing jobs, my spouse's life-threatening illness, my own debilitating health issues, nursing a beloved pet through an illness and end of life, disillusionment with how I identified myself, dissatisfaction with my own nutrition and physical health, and elderly parent health issues. I got through all of it, but I felt adrift. I was searching for motivation, purpose, and joy, and Kelly helped me find it. I did the work. She was the catalyst that sparked my transformation.

“Before going on the Idyllwild Forest Goddess Retreat with Kelly, I had a rough month, specifically around the holiday time being apart from my family, and dealing with other family issues. It started to affect my life in a really negative way, specifically my work ethic. I also didn’t really know too much about yoga, meditation, and other mindfulness practices and I didn’t want to feel like the only one there who didn’t have that knowledge. But while we were on the retreat I realized how freaking awesome this type of retreat is! That spending time with a group of amazing women and practicing yoga, meditation, and breathwork can be extremely empowering. I came back feeling more motivated and recharged, with a huge desire to continue practicing everything we did there. This experience makes me want to try new things and has really broadened my perspective on how important taking time to do things like this is for your soul! “In early 2020, the world was locked down, and I found myself alone, at home, for months. At first I enjoyed the time away from the office and distractions. But as the pandemic wore on, the isolation was drawing my psyche to a dark and disturbing place. I was depressed, lonely, and my mental state was only getting worse. Then, quite serendipitously, I came across Kelly’s Instagram profile as I was mindlessly perusing social media. Her concepts and ideas were far outside my comfort zone. Far from anything I would normally pursue, but something told me that was exactly what I needed. On a whim, I reached out. I started doing yoga with Kelly over 4 years ago. As an avid marathoner, I was primarily drawn to her class as an injury prevention technique. However, Kelly’s passion for sharing her practice and welcoming attitude (especially to those of us who are flexibly challenged!) inspired me to sign up for a few of her workshops. I enjoyed them so much that I attended her yoga retreat in Greece. Believe me, I never thought I’d be on a yoga retreat! But I’m so glad I went = it was an amazing experience and truly life changing! I learned a lot about breathing techniques, chakras, and much more. While there are so many things to love about Kelly, I really appreciate how non-judging she is about my lack of knowledge and abilities when it comes to ‘all things yoga.’ She is very encouraging and supporting—meeting students where they are at. Her inclusiveness gave me the courage to sign-up for the weeklong retreat, doing something that felt totally out of my wheelhouse. I have had the pleasure of knowing Kelly for several years, attending her yoga classes here in San Diego. Kelly is an exceptional teacher, bringing her background in biomechanics and skills as a physical trainer to her vinyasa flow classes. As an independent backpack traveler, I generally steer clear of group tours but, wanting to incorporate yoga into my travels, I took the plunge and signed up for Kelly’s 2017 Iceland retreat. It was fabulous: a well-organized, fun excursion, and I met people who will be in my heart forever. This year 2019 I went on Kelly’s Bali retreat. It was top-notch with reflective activities and excursions. A couple of highlights were a private kirtan performance by a local artist and spirited free-flow yoga dancing with new friends. “I had the pleasure of going on Kelly’s first Peru retreat in 2017 and it was an amazing experience. We had yoga and meditation throughout the first week while acclimating in Cusco. We stayed in beautiful Wilka T’ika were they feed us wonderful fresh local food. We got to go horseback riding or go rafting. I chose to go horse back riding. Then I think I bit off more than I could chew with the Salkantay Trek. I had a labrum tear and was still healing, plus some back issues. First day of the hike, my back went out. I was able to do the first day, but Kelly tried really hard to help me with the pain. She even did Reiki on me. But, my mind was made up and I was able to be taken back to Cusco to recover. I had a wonderful train ride in to Aguas Calientes, where Machu Picchu is locates to meet up with my crew again. I was well taken care of. Machu Picchu was breathtaking and I was able to make the Huayna Picchu trek. Though I was the last one up and last one down, it was still amazing experience. Kelly was always checking on me making sure I was ok. I would definitely go on a retreat with Kelly again. She is amazing and very kind.” - Patricia Sessa
I met Kelly at a time I was overweight, inactive, and dealing with two severely herniated disks that made standing upright a long, and painful, process every morning. Even with our first consultative meeting I had to explain the limitations my diagnosis left me with. Without hesitation Kelly provided a mindset into our sessions that proved my situation was not a roadblock, and trusting her would get us past it. After a month, I was standing upright with no pain. By 6 months, her approach to fitness and nutrition had me 40lbs lighter and was living an active life that I never would have thought possible. - Doug Kline
Working one on one with Kelly Collins is the best decision I’ve made in regard to yoga since starting my practice! In our private yoga sessions, she tailored to my level and goals, and the sessions were both challenging and fun :) I fully believe her encouragement and empathic nature helped me breakthrough to a new level in my practice—We just worked on alignment and muscle memory, but through our sessions, my practice improved in various other ways: I am more centered with the cues from a teacher in class and look up less, I bend and fold farther, and am more present and in touch with the muscles being activated. “I cannot express fully what a difference Kelly has made in my life. I could tell you about the changes we made to my diet, exercise, and spiritual practices like drinking lemon water, adding protein to my breakfasts, cutting cords after work, and stream of consciousness journaling.
